See How We Work
How a Ladies Event Works
The rules and the structure are those of a regular tournament, usually no-limit hold'em. The only difference is who can enter: the event is for women, and organizers may ask for ID at registration.
- Buy-ins: usually at the lower end of the schedule, so it is a good first live tournament.
- Schedule: often a single-day event, sometimes with re-entry while late registration is open.
- Other events: women can also play every open event of the festival, including the Main Event.
Why Play a Ladies Event
- A first step: a smaller field and a lower buy-in make it easier to get used to live tournament play.
- Community: ladies events are a place to meet other players, and some tours run a ladies ranking or a series of ladies events.
- Titles: a ladies win counts as a festival title and appears in the results with the other events.
