Poker Dream (PD)

Poker Dream (PD) is a live poker tour founded in 2022 by Winfred Yu, a high-stakes player who previously ran the Poker King Club. Its first festival took place at Resorts World Genting in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, in July 2022. Malaysia has remained the home of the series, and every stop carries an edition number in its name.

The tour spread quickly across the region. In its first year it also played in Hoi An, Vietnam, and it returned there in 2024 at Hoiana Casino. In 2023 it made its first trip to the Philippines with a festival at Newport World Resorts in Manila. Since 2024 Jeju in South Korea has been a regular stop at LES A Casino, and in 2026 the tour played Taipei, Taiwan, at Win Win Poker. Genting still hosts about four editions a year, each running for around ten days.

A Poker Dream festival is built around a mid-stakes Main Event. At Genting the buy-in has ranged from MYR 1,800 to MYR 4,800, and the full schedule lists 60 to nearly 100 events. The fields are regional: recent Main Event champions have come from Singapore, China, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as India and Vietnam. The official Poker Dream tournament site carries the next festival and its schedule.

Field size is where the tour stands out. The Poker Dream 15 Malaysia Main Event in January 2025 drew 1,992 entries to a MYR 1,800 buy-in, with a prize pool of MYR 4.2 million (~US$937,000), and China's Shaoshuai Li won it. It is the largest Poker Dream Main Event in Asia Poker Hub data, which covers the tour since 2024. A month later the Poker Dream 16 Jeju Main Event built a KRW 2.58 billion (~US$1.8 million) prize pool from 1,384 entries, the richest in that data. Five more Genting Main Events since then have each passed 1,500 entries.
