Rebuy Poker Tournaments
A rebuy tournament lets players buy more chips during an early period, usually when they have lost all or most of their stack. An add-on at the end of the period often gives everyone one last chip purchase.

How a Rebuy Works
- Rebuy period: during the first levels, a player at or below the starting stack can buy chips again, often several times.
- Add-on: at the end of the period, players may buy one extra stack, whatever their chip count.
- Re-entry is different: in a re-entry event you buy a new entry with a new seat after busting; in a rebuy you keep your seat and add chips.
A tournament without re-entry or rebuys is a freezeout.
How to Play a Rebuy
- Expect loose play: many players gamble early, knowing they can rebuy.
- Budget for it: the real cost of a rebuy event is the buy-in plus the rebuys and the add-on you plan to take.
