Responsible Gambling
Poker is a game, and it should stay fun. If gambling is no longer fun, or it costs you more than you can afford, help is available. It is free and confidential.

Keep It Fun
- Set a budget and a time limit
Decide before you start how much money and time you will spend, and stop when you reach it.
- Only play with spare money
Use only money you can afford to lose. Poker and casino games are not a way to earn a living or to pay debts.
- Do not chase your losses
Losing is part of the game. Trying to win it back usually makes the loss bigger.
- Take breaks
Step away from the table, and do not play when you are tired, upset or have been drinking.
- Use the limits of the poker room
Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders and time-outs are in your account settings.
Warning Signs
It may be time to get help if you:
- Spend more money or time than you planned, again and again.
- Borrow money, sell things or hide your gambling to keep playing.
- Think about gambling most of the time, or feel restless when you do not play.
- Play to win back losses or to escape problems.
- Argue with family or friends about gambling, or neglect work or study.
If any of this sounds familiar, talk to someone. The services below are free and confidential.
Tools That Help
- Self-exclusion: in many countries you can exclude yourself from casinos or betting sites for a period. The schemes are listed by country below.
- Limits at the poker room: every licensed poker room lets you set deposit and loss limits, take a break or close your account. Look for "Responsible Gaming" in your account settings.
- Blocking software: BetBlocker is free and blocks gambling sites and apps for a period you choose. Gamban is a paid alternative.
