About the Super Cup
The Super Cup (SC) is a live poker series in South Korea that started in 2024. It presents itself as a mind sports festival, so the poker schedule shares the stage with chess, janggi and baduk tournaments. The first edition, Super Cup Seoul in November 2024, was hosted by the Isabelle Group, a Korean playing-card maker, at the Coex Center in Seoul.
Unlike many international series that stay on Jeju island, the Super Cup moves around the country. Recent stops have been held in Jeju at Lotte Hotel Jeju, in Busan at Paradise Casino Busan and BPEX, and in Incheon at Paradise City. A typical festival runs for about a week with 25 to 45 events, from a multi-flight Main Event to High Roller and team events. The official Super Cup site lists the next stops.
The Super Cup Busan 2025 Main Event is the largest field of the series so far, with 1,000 entries and a prize pool of KRW 750 million (~US$552,000). Local player Lee Jun Kyu won it. At Super Cup 6 Busan in 2026, China's Tingjia Cao won a 599-entry Main Event worth KRW 800 million (~US$543,000).
