Is Live Poker Legal in Singapore?

Legal, Licensed

Gambling in Singapore is regulated by the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA), which replaced the Casino Regulatory Authority as the single regulator for all forms of gambling. Casino gaming, including poker, is allowed only in the two licensed integrated-resort casinos, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa. Resorts World Sentosa reopened a dedicated poker room in 2024 and has expanded it since, while Marina Bay Sands is reported to offer mainly house-banked poker variants. The Singapore Poker Championships run on the MV Aegean Paradise, a cruise ship reached by ferry from Singapore that operates outside Singapore waters.[2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]

  • Minimum age for casino entry is 21.
  • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents pay an entry levy of S$150 per day or S$3,000 per year; foreign visitors do not.
  • Foreign visitors must show a valid passport with their immigration pass to enter a casino.
  • Resorts World Sentosa runs No Limit Hold'em cash games; in 2024 it had stakes from S$5/10 to S$50/100 with a 5% rake capped at three big blinds, and later reports put the room at about 20 tables.
  • Physical social gambling is exempt only at home, among family or people who know each other, with no fees or private gain for non-players; games in public places such as void decks or coffeeshops are not exempt.
  • The SPC cruise festivals require an original passport, including for Singapore citizens and PRs, who clear Singapore immigration at the ferry terminal.
