Travel Tips for Players
- Visa
- Most visitors can get a 30-day tourist visa online as an e-visa or on arrival, and must submit the Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before flying in; passports need 6 months' validity. Overstays cost USD 10 per day. Check the official Cambodian e-visa site via a Cambodian embassy.
- Money
- The riel (KHR) is the official currency but US dollars are legal tender and widely used. ATMs exist in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville but card skimming is common; check dollar notes for fakes and damage.
- Casino Entry
- Bring your foreign passport, since casinos admit foreigners only. Governments warn of petty crime in Sihanoukville and of fake job offers that lead to scam compounds there and in border areas; Australia advises against travel within 50 km of the Thai border, and land crossings to Thailand were closed at the time of checking.
- Tax on Winnings
- We have not confirmed yet how poker winnings are taxed in Cambodia. Check with the venue or a tax adviser before you play for large amounts.
