About the Vietnam Poker League

The Vietnam Poker League (VPL) is a live poker series based in Hanoi, Vietnam. It debuted with the VPL Opener from March 8 to 18, 2024 at the Grand Loyal Poker Club. Three more festivals followed at the same club that year. A summer series ran in May, a championship in September and a winter season in December.

In 2026 the league moved its festival to the Grand Plaza Hotel Hanoi. Its spring festival there ran for almost two weeks with 57 events, built around a VND 30 million (~US$1,100) Main Event. The official Vietnam Poker League site lists the current series and contacts.

The VPL III 2026 Main Event drew 799 entries and VND 20.5 billion (~US$778,000), just above its VND 20 billion guarantee. It is the largest VPL field in Asia Poker Hub data. Local player Duy Thuc Nguyen won it. Hanoi now hosts several series of this size: in June 2026 the debut Main Event of the Quads Poker Championship drew 764 entries in the same city.
