The Triton Poker Series (Triton) is a live high-stakes poker tour created in 2016 by Paul Phua and Richard Yong, two businessmen from Malaysia. It was born in Asia. The first event, the Cali Cup, was played in January 2016 in Parañaque in the Philippines, where 52 entries took part and Germany's Fedor Holz won the title. Triton runs only High Roller and Super High Roller tournaments, which places it at the top of the buy-in ladder.
The series first grew around the region. After its early stops in Manila it went to Macau in 2017 and to Jeju in South Korea in 2018. In 2023 it returned to Southeast Asia with a 13-event stop in Hoi An, Vietnam. Since 2024 Jeju has been the tour's Asian base, now usually with one series in spring and one in September, while the European leg is held in Montenegro each May. A Triton series usually lasts about two weeks and offers 14 to 20 events.
The audience is narrow by design. Wealthy recreational players sit with some of the strongest professionals in the game, and the flagship Main Event costs US$100,000. Schedules center on No-Limit Hold'em, with Short Deck as a regular part of the offer. For players with smaller budgets, the organizers launched the Triton One series in Jeju in 2025, with buy-ins from US$2,000. The official Triton Poker Series site publishes the current schedule and results.
Some of the tour's best-known moments came from its charity and Asian events. In 2019 the Triton Million for Charity in London had a £1,050,000 buy-in, the most expensive tournament held at the time. In March 2025 the Jeju Main Event drew 285 entries and a US$28.5 million prize pool, reported by trade media as the largest six-figure buy-in tournament ever played. Six months later the Triton Jeju II 2025 Main Event added 228 entries and US$22.8 million, won by Christoph Vogelsang. Asian players also collect titles on the European leg: Hong Kong's Danny Tang won the Triton Montenegro 2026 Main Event.
