About the MGM Poker Tournament
The MGM Poker Tournament (MPT) is the live poker series of MGM China, one of the casino concessionaires in Macau. Its first series ran from September 3 to 15, 2024 at MGM Cotai, and the operator presented it as its first major poker tournament series. That debut was built around a HKD 8,880 (~US$1,140) Millionaire Maker with a guaranteed HKD 1 million (~US$128,000) first prize.
All MPT festivals are held at MGM Cotai, and the official MGM Cotai site carries the resort information. The series now runs several festivals a year under names such as the Macau Poker Open, the Macau Poker Classic and the MPT Championship, each built around a HKD 12,000 (~US$1,500) Main Event. The MPT Macau Poker Open 2026 Main Event drew 1,240 entries and HKD 12.6 million (~US$1.6 million), won by the Philippines' Joshua Figuerres. At the MPT Macau Poker Classic 2026, Hong Kong's Shehzad Hassam won the 788-entry Main Event.
